アトラス山脈をはじめ、モロッコのベルベル村の女性達によって織られる絨毯、ボ・シャルウィット。
素材は全て服の端切でできた、リサイクル絨毯です。
そのユニークで独特な柄は、ベルベルアート、ベルベルデザインとして、近年、ヨーロッパを始めとする様々な国で注目されています。
同じ柄、同じ色のものは一つとしてありません。


こちらはモロッコのルアンナという州あたりで作られるラグ。
1970年代ぐらいから織られているのもので、上質な羊の毛を染めて織られています。
ボシャルウィットと同じく、描かれる模様は自由でアートなものが多く、
ベリベル村の家に取り入れるために細く、薄く織られています。
毛足が短く薄いものが多いため、古いものは穴が空いていたりと、ダメージがあります。




素材は上品なウール。
とても上品に織られて織り、しっかりとしています。
使い込まれた風合いで、ところどころのウールの擦れ具合で厚みがなんとなく違います。
うっすらとベルベルの紋章が模様で入っています。

A rare Rhamna piece from the 1970's. Rich, Moorish reds with handwoven edges in goat hair, both characteristic of these style of rugs. Fantastic condition for its age. Moroccan Berber rugs of this style, quality and condition are scarce! What makes this piece so incredibly collectible is its pattern and size - typically these rugs are long and thin to fit in traditional Berber house - this piece is more contemporary in size. Hailing from Rhamna in the High Atlas Mountains, these sought after Moroccan rugs were woven by Berber women of the tribe. Pieces are often in rich Moorish colours and patterns, which reflect an older North African weaving tradition that is now almost entirely lost.
